New Mother Essence: Me First

If I could create one essential oil for Mothers it would be called, “Me First.” When women inhaled it they would instantly remember that they too are human beings with needs, wants and feelings.

Self Essence - The Most Precious of All.

Self Essence – Most Precious of All.

In that moment of being transported back to their personhood Mothers would be able to identify what most needed repair and care in themselves (nurture) and hence to be able to self care (tend) in a way that would then let them do “other care” easily and without pain.

This knowing would ensure no Mother became drained and depleted to the point of exhaustion and despair.

This knowing would put a Mother back in touch with herself so she could re-awaken and begin to experience living again.

ME FIRST: The Oil of Essential Self

Without a conscious awareness of self we have no radar for correctly weighing the needs of others or of being able to sift to know what really matters.

Without this sight we are unable to choose what is most important. Instead our energy can be wasted on minor and unimportant details.

Without a strong sense of self and clear sight we become an automaton pushed and pulled by the whims, needs, and wants of all and sundry. Our children need us more focused than that.

So, first thing each day, take a big whiff of “Me First” and find what YOU most need to feel better and happy. Let this orient you and go from there.

If you are sad or tired you know to go slow and be kind and gentle with yourself. If you are curious and energized you know this is the day to tackle big projects.

Attend to your needs as important today and watch how easily your day can unfold.

With care,

Dr. T
